About The Company
Serving Midland Since 1988
When Dan Nicholas founded Roofs by Nicholas in Midland in 1988, it was a one-man operation built on a simple idea: do the job right, stand behind your work, and treat every customer like a neighbor. From there, it grew into one of the most respected names in West Texas roofing, one handshake and one roof at a time.
Our team has replaced and repaired over 30,000 commercial and residential roofs across the Permian Basin. Hailstorms, high winds, and the West Texas sun have tested every one of those roofs, and Dan's standard of quality is why customers keep calling us back and recommending us to friends and family.
That standard shows up in the details. We answer our phones 24/7, because storm damage doesn't wait for business hours. Every estimate is free and straightforward, with no pressure and no surprises. And as a locally owned company, we're not going anywhere. When you call us about a roof we installed years ago, you'll reach a local team that honors its workmanship warranty.
Today, under General Manager Greg Niehenke's leadership, that same standard guides everything we do. We know you have plenty of options when choosing a roofing company in Midland, Odessa, or Big Spring, and we're grateful for the trust this community has placed in us over the years.

Why Choose Us
Why West Texas Chooses Us
Roofs by Nicholas provides expert residential and commercial roofing services to homes and businesses across the Permian Basin. We carry general liability and workers' comp coverage and provide certificates on request. As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, we can also offer some of the strongest manufacturer-backed warranties available.
West Texas hail is hard on roofs, so we install Class 4 impact-resistant shingles that are built to stand up to it and may qualify you for an insurance discount.
Every roof gets a final walkthrough before we call it done. We check the flashing, vents, and ridge, clean up nails with a magnetic sweeper, and haul off the old material, so your yard looks the way it did before we arrived.
Our crew, pictured below with General Manager Greg Niehenke (center, in white) and our 2025 NewsWest 9 Best of the Basin award, brings more than 100 years of combined roofing experience to every job, so your project is in capable hands.
